Children's yoga classes are playful and fun, incorporating music, movement, breathing, stories, games and of course yoga poses. Children learn yoga poses that develop strength, gross motor skills and right-left brain hemisphere development. The physical nature means kids let off some steam whilst socializing. Classes finish off with songs, mediations and quiet relaxation time. And most importantly the kids have fun!
Gillian completed the Radiant Child Yoga Program (30 hours), with Shakta Kaur Khalsa, who strongly believes in honoring each student’s creativity and inner wisdom. She has enjoyed working with many wonderful kids ranging in age from toddlers to teens at: the YMCA (Greenpoint), Kids' Canvas Bushwick, family co-ops, playcentres, preschools and children in Brooklyn public schools.
