PRIVATE: Been practicing yoga for a while but reached a plateau? Ready to deepen your practice? These personalized sessions will help you to achieve your goals. Depending on your particular needs, sessions may incorporate breathing exercises, core strength work, meditation, inversions or restorative poses. Perfect for a busy schedule, you can practice yoga in the comfort of your own home (studio option also available).
BEGINNER: If the thought of attending a regular yoga class fills you with fear then this option is for you! Whatever your limitations, wherever you are at, Gillian will meet you there. Her relaxed and fun approach will ease you into yoga gently. She has lots of experience working with people completely new to yoga. You may have specific concerns, which can be addressed, such as easing neck and shoulder tension, increasing flexibility, or working with mental afflictions. With a private session the poses and flow can be personally tailored to your needs leaving you refreshed, open and in a more positive place.
RESTORATIVE: New York living can be hectic. We are human beings but easily get caught up in lots of doing. Sometimes we want a fast-paced, challenging yoga practice. At other times we need to balance this with a more nourishing slow paced practice. Fully supported by props (block, bolster etc), your body will relax and open, releasing tension and stored-up toxins, leaving you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. This yin practice will activate your parasympathetic nervous system creating a deeply relaxed state.
PRE/POST NATAL: If you do yoga during your pregnancy and beyond you will feel good in mind and body. Pregnancy and motherhood present amazing physical and mental changes. Use yoga poses, breathing techniques and meditations to help you adjust gracefully to the challenges you experience. Remaining fit and active with a positive outlook during pregnancy prepares a new mom for childbirth. Post-pregnancy sessions will help you reclaim your body. Strengthening the naval center leads to core physical strength and mental strength, grit and determination, which are invaluable as a parent.
COUPLES/FAMILY/KIDS YOGA: Want to practice yoga with your loved ones? As you learn and grow, share your practice and its benefits with someone special. Couples yoga incorporates partner poses building trust and a deeper connection. Children and family sessions use music and games to engage young ones in a fun and playful yoga practice.
